Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: April 28, 2026

CookieReel exists so guests can record short, joyful video messages for an event host. This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes what is and isn't allowed on the Service. It applies to everyone who uploads or causes content to be uploaded — bakers, hosts, and guests.

Strictly prohibited

Because CookieReel hosts video uploads, we want to be unmistakably clear:

  • Pornographic or sexually explicit content of any kind.
  • Any sexual content involving minors (CSAM). This will be reported immediately to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement, in accordance with applicable law (including 18 U.S.C. § 2258A).
  • Content depicting non-consensual sexual conduct, sexual exploitation, or human trafficking.
  • Content depicting actual violence, gore, or threats of harm.

Violations are grounds for immediate removal, account termination, and referral to law enforcement. We cooperate fully with valid legal process.

Also not allowed

  • Harassment, bullying, hate speech, or threats against any person or group.
  • Content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property.
  • Doxxing or sharing someone's private information without consent.
  • Spam, scams, deceptive content, or impersonation of others.
  • Malware, phishing links, or anything that compromises the Service or its users.
  • Anything illegal in the jurisdiction of the baker, host, or guest.

Baker and host responsibilities

Bakers and hosts are responsible for the conduct of their guests. If you share your event QR code or link, take reasonable steps to ensure it is used for its intended purpose: short, friendly video messages for the celebration. Bakers and hosts can preview every submission in their portal and request removal of anything that violates this policy.

Reporting violations

If you see content on CookieReel that violates this policy, email noreply@cookiereel.com with the URL or event details. We respond as quickly as possible. If the content involves a minor, also report it directly to NCMEC's CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org.

Enforcement

We may remove content, suspend accounts, terminate access, or take other action at our discretion. For severe violations (including any sexual content involving minors), we will preserve evidence and report to law enforcement before notifying the account holder, as required by law.
